Heroin

There are many forms of heroin and can vary by region or source.  White powder, black tar, or brown powder are all versions of the same drug.  Heroin is often mixed with other drugs, such as fentanyl, with the resulting product going by regional names such as china white, speedball or scramble.  The products can be packed in capsules as well as their traditional form. The pictures below indicate just a few of the items that may indicate heroin use. Tin foil is used for heating heroin (or crushed pills or other drugs) due to the low heat capacity of the foil.  Modified light bulbs can also be used. “Smoking it” means inhaling the vapor through straws, glass/foil pipes, or toilet paper tubes.  Solo users tend to use narrower tubes to hold it in their mouth to keep hands free.  Lighters, small torch, or tea light candles can be used as heat sources.
